Kidneys are located in the back of our abdomen just below the ribcage and one on each side of the spine. This region is also known as the 'flank-region'.

Stages of Kidney failure
Kidney failure takes place in 5 stages.
1. In the first stage, there are no clear symptoms. Healthy lifestyle, balanced diet, regular exercise and losing excessive weight can help in improving kidney health and returning it back to normal.
2.A few mild symptoms are visible in the second stage. Protein in urine and change in the shape of kidney can seen. Healthy lifestyle can still help in improving kidney's condition.
3.At stage 3, the symptoms are clearly visible and include high blood pressure, swelling in legs and ankle, change in the color of urine. One must immediately seek a doctor's advice along with healthy lifestyle.
4. It gets more serious and clearly identifiable in the 4th stage. The 4th and 5th stages are also called end stage kidney disease. One should start proper medication with the consultation of a doctor. Symptoms include Anaemia and High blood pressure.
5.This stage is marked by the complete kidney failure. Vomitting tendency, intense itching, difficulty in breathing etc are the main symptoms during this stage. At this stage, an individual needs regular dialysis or kidney transplant.
